Before going to the UK to study, you need a physical examination. After obtaining a visa, the students must first go through the health check-ups for people going abroad at the local inspection and quarantine bureaus. After that, you can get the Certificate of Health Examination for International Traveler and International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (also called the yellow paper) for up to one week. Physical examination is a must-know item for most students preparing to study abroad, especially for those heading to the UK. Because when you enter the UK, you may be stopped at the airport to check whether you have a health certificate.

Immediately after obtaining a visa, students should go to the local inspection and quarantine bureau to apply for the Certificate of Health Examination for International Traveler and the yellow paper, and receive medical examination and vaccination before going through the relevant procedures for going abroad. Usually these two certificates are enough, but different countries have different requirements for the health and vaccination of overseas students. To go to the UK, you need to take two kinds of mixed vaccines against diphtheria and tetanus respectively.

In addition to taking vaccines, the physical examinationtobe completed before going to the UK includes routine physical check-ups, such as body weight, blood pressure, vision, electrocardiogram, blood routine and urine examination, B-ultrasound and chest X-rays. In addition, the UK also requires UK visa holders with a duration of over 6 months to have a TB test prior to entry.

It usually takes three to five working days to get the examination results. You can take the physical examination at the local entry & exit inspection and quarantine bureau (the embassy has no physical examination form), or the Beijing International Travel Healthcare Center, and get the Certificate of Health Examination for International Traveler and the yellow paper.

Required materials for physical examination include a passport or ID card, two two-inch color photos and physical examination fees. You fast on the day of examination, and take a good rest and light diet the day before. If you are having a fever or taking medication, please postpone the examination. Women are suggested not to do the examination on menstrual period.
