Brief Introduction:
Guangdong University of Foreign Studies(GDUFS) is a key university with distinctiveinternationalizationin Guangdong Province. It is an important base for cultivating international talents, studying foreign languages and cultures, foreign economy and trade, and international strategies in south China. Located in the famous historical and cultural city Guangzhou, the economic center of south China, it has three campuses. Founded in 1980, theTrainingCenter for Studying Overseas ofGuangdong University of Foreign Studies (hereinafter referred to as “GDUFS TrainingCenter) is one of the 11 training centers for overseas study directly under the Ministry of Education in China. It is designated as the incubator for secretary general of the Teaching Steering Committee Training Department. It is also the English training unit for high-level management personnel designated by the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee. It provides training for English, German, French, Italian, etc. GDUFS Training Center is mainly responsible for short-term intensive foreign language training for state-sponsored overseas students. The training certificate is applicable for projects including local cooperation projects, Young Backbone Project, Western China Project and art projects of the China Scholarship Council. In addition, GDUFS Training Center also accepts foreign language training entrusted by the government, enterprises, public institutions, social organizations and individuals.
GDUFS TrainingCenter, as a school-level unit of GDUFS, relies on GDUFS’ outstanding teachers and teaching resources to help students improve cross-cultural language communication. The teaching mode of full-time (off-job) intensive foreign language training and courses including oral English, listening, reading, writing, grammar, foreign culture form a solid foundation for students to live and study abroad. At the same time, GDUFS Training Center is constantly innovating and actively learns advanced foreign language teaching methods and management. It has also done a multitude of research and explorations in short-term intensive foreign language teaching and specific foreign language teaching, which has achieved fruitful results.
In the past 40 years,GDUFS TrainingCenter has trained tens of thousands of state-sponsored overseas students, made training plans for enterprises and public institutions in south China and trained a large number of foreign language talents. It plays an important role in international exchanges among universities, enterprises and public institutions. GDUFS Training Center has won unanimous praise from the Ministry of Education, peer experts and students for its profound historical background, high-quality teaching management and abundant scientific research achievements.
Who Should Apply:
Overseas students and senior visiting scholars sponsored by the Ministry of Education, state-sponsored postgraduates from high-level universities, and contractual students of enterprises and public institutions, etc.
Training Programs:
I.Foreign languagetraining for state-sponsored overseas study: namely, English training for overseas students and senior visiting scholars sponsored by the Ministry of Education and foreign language training for postgraduates from high-level universities.
1. Advanced English training class for state-sponsored overseas students
Admission Requirements: Applicants who have acquired or plan to apply for the qualification certificate of sponsored visiting of the China Scholarship Council can apply for admission.Art training is only available in Beijing Language and Culture University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Art training applications will not be accepted elsewhere.
Class Introduction: English training for overseas students and senior visiting scholars sponsored by the Ministry of Education includes off-job class (one semester; Monday to Thursday from March to July for spring class/September to December for autumn class) and part-time class (two semesters; Thursday afternoon and all day on Friday). Students may choose the training time according to their own availability. Only those who have passed the final exam can acquire the Course-completion Certificate of Advanced English Training Class by Training Centers Directly under the Ministry of Education.

2. State-sponsored postgraduate class from high-level universities
Admission Requirements:Undergraduatesand postgraduates who have been admitted to the National High-level Universities Graduate Project. In accordance with the sponsor requirements of postgraduate management project of the China Scholarship Council, GDUFS Training Center has specially set up language training class for state-sponsored postgraduates from colleges and universities.
Class Introduction: Language training for state-sponsored postgraduates is mainly held during summer vacation, which covers French, German, Italy, etc. Participants should choose the appropriate language training class according to the country they will be sent to. After the unified course-completion exam of the National Training Department, only those who have passed the exam and acquired the certificate can be sent overseas.
