About the University

University of Gloucestershire, established in 1847, is a public institution of higher education with a history of more than 170 years. The university has three campuses: FCH Campus, Park Campus and Oxstalls Campus. Up to 90% of its students are from the UK, which facilitates communication between international students and local students. The university is reputed for developing students’ potential and cultivating their practical abilities. Its distinctive group research and discussion are deeply loved by international students.

In the Guardian University Guide 2018, the University of Gloucestershire ranked 18th in the UK’s modern universities. Its economics and management have the best price-performance ratio, and ranks 7th among the UK’s modern universities in terms of career prospects. Its students’ satisfaction with teaching ranks among the top 10 among the UK’s modern universities. In addition, its international student support ranked top five in the UK (2017 International Student Barometer), and excellent courses, instructor teams and student support were among the top ten (Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2017).

The university is located in the Cotswolds of southwest England, which is known for beautiful natural scenery of the countryside. Every year, the British Literary Festival, Music Festival, International Jazz Festival, Science Festival, and Golden Cup are held there, which attract tourists from all over the world. The university is easily accessible from Oxford, Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff (the capital of Welsh) and Stratford (Shakespeare's Birthplace) in an hour’s drive, and from London in 2 hours’ drive.
