Hosted by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) on November 6, 2018, and sponsored by the Center for Foreign Language Training, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), the 2018 Annual Meeting ofthe Center for Foreign Language Training of the Ministry of Education was held in the International Conference Hall on the 3rd floor of the Executive Building. GDUFS Vice-President Chen Linhan, CSC Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Ning, Director Long Man, Director Dong Zhixue, Director Li Xin, Deputy-Director Yang Xiangyi, Deputy-Director Guo Danqing, Program Director Liu Dawei and the heads of training departments attended the meeting.

Vice-President Chen Linhan delivered a speech at the annual meeting, welcoming CSC’s leaders and the heads of training departments, and introducing GDUFS’s concept of internationalization of education and its achievements. At the meeting, the heads of 11 training departments introduced their work and achievements since the establishment of the Education Steering Committee of Center for Foreign Language Training of the Ministry of Education, and analyzed the outstanding difficulties and problems in their work. At the meeting, two teachers’ representatives reported on the investigation of foreign visits and provided pertinent suggestions for the training and teaching work of the Center. Chen Weidong, Director of the Education Steering Committee, reported on the Committee’s work. Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Ning briefed the CSC’s overseas study dispatch plan for 2019 and instructed the training plan for 2019, requiring all training departments to continue to pay close attention to the quality of teaching and effectively improve the English exchange level of overseas personnel who will be sponsored by the CSC.
The meeting
In the seminar, under the direction of Yang Wenhui, Secretary-General of the Education Steering Committee, the specific affairs of the Center, such as teaching, examinations, rules and regulations, and re-election were discussed in depth and in detail. In addition,CSC leaders and heads of the training departments visited the teaching classroom settings and teaching situation of the GDUFS Training Center, and had extensive exchanges in teaching and management. At the same time, they gave full recognition and praise to the teaching and management work of GDUFS Training Center.
