In the evening of December 20th, 2018, the Meeting for Building up Academic Atmosphere, 2018 Commendation Conference and Welcome Party for the Freshmen was successfully concluded in the Lecture Hall of Teaching Building 6.
1. Building up Academic Atmosphere
The Dean Liang Xuehong Giving a Speech
At the beginning of the event, the dean Liang Xuehong gave a speech to encourage building up the academic atmosphere . The dean introduced the new administrative and party leadership of the International College, and expressed the determination to continue making efforts to lead the International College to a new height. And then, the dean made positive comments on the learning attitude of most of the students since the start of the new term, but at the same time pointed out some of the negative behaviors of some students, hoping that they could correct their mistakes and do better in the rest of the term. Lastly, the dean encouraged the students with fours words: gratefulness, diligence, endurance, and discipline, wishing the students to achieve greatness in their academic journey.
2. 2018 Commendation Conference
After the speech, the 2018 Commendation Conference began. The secretary of the general party branch of the International College announced the commendations for the academic year of the 2017-2018. The appraisal of this academic year ended in November 2018, and 83 excellent students were awarded scholarships. 7 students were awarded the first prize scholarship, 11 were awarded the second prize scholarship, and 15 were awarded third prize scholarship, 10 were awarded scholarship of the college, 8 were awarded scholarship for excellent social work, 5 were awarded excellent prize for performance in cultural and sports events. In this academic year, 27 were awarded freshmen scholarship, 4 were awarded the title of model of three-good students, 24 were awarded the title of the “top-three student”, 10 were awarded the title of excellent student, 5 were awarded excellent students in cultural and sports events.
