Do you know the two common types of offer letters issued by British universities?

1. Unconditional Offer

According to expert consultants for study abroad, the unconditional offer is the official letter of acceptance from the UK University. The official acceptance letter indicates that the applicant has met all the requirements of the university and has been officially enrolled. During the validity period of the official offer, students can accept the offer and submit the first advance payment of tuition to the school to receive the Confirmation of Acceptance for Study, also known as CAS, to formally become a student of the university.

In general, unconditional admission to the UK is only available after the applicant has provided all the application materials. For language scores, IELTS scores must be provided. This limits the applicant numbers, so students who have only prepared for the UK a year ago and have achieved a good IELTS score will have the opportunity to obtain an unconditional offer. If you want to get this offer, you must plan ahead and be prepared.

2. Conditional Offer

If you have not yet obtained a satisfactory IELTS score, the experts believe, you are more likely to obtain a conditional offer.

If you have already met the university’s basic admission requirements, but cannot provide several application materials for now, such as qualified IELTS score, graduation certificate, and average grade, the university can give you a conditional offer first after the review. After you submit the rest of the supplementary materials and meet the application requirements, your will obtain a formal unconditional offer.

The offer allows applicants to have more flexibility in the application time and to know as early as possible whether their main qualifications meet the application requirements. Since it is impossible to obtain the CAS through a conditional offer letter and you cannot apply for a student visa with that, your next step in applying for study in the UK is that you must first obtain the official admission notice from the university, that is, the unconditional offer.
