■ About the University

Built in 1838, the University of Westminster (UW) is a public comprehensive research university located in the heart of London.

In the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, UW ranked 29th in the world and 4th in the UK in terms of internationalization. Its Department of Journalism and Mass Communications is world-renowned, and ranked 29th and 47th respectively in the QS World University Rankings in 2016 and 2017. 65% of its graduates work in the media or art fields, including well-known media like the BBC, CNN, China Central Television, Shenzhen Media Group, and China Daily.

UW’s School of Media, Arts and Design has the only Chinese media center in the UK. Besides conducting academic research, it has been offering training courses for China’s State Council Information Office, CCTV, Shanghai Media Group, Hunan Broadcasting System, the British Foreign Office, and the like to train professionals in the field of television production.

London is the world’s political, cultural, financial and commercial center. UW is located in the heart of London. Its three campuses -- Regent Campus, Cavendish Campus, and Marylebone Campus -- sit at either side of Oxford Street in central London. Regent Campus is adjacent to the headquarters of the BBC. Marybury Campus is opposite at Madame Tussauds London and the Sherlock Holmes Museum, backs on the world’s top designer studios. Relying on London’s resources, UW has a long-standing partnership with a wide range of UK and international companies, which help students gain internships and work experience.
